Process

Challenge

As a new product on the market, Riddell's InSite system serves as an incredibly important tool, helping football teams at all levels monitor address and avoid potentially harmful impacts on the field through constant digital feedback for each player on a team through their helmets. However, they were having issues with dropoff through their existing, text and image based web experience, and were looking to simplify & augment the experience to make it more engaging to the audience.

Mission

Transform InSite's web experience to drive up it's engagement & decrease falloff.

Solution

During our initial explorations with the client, we settled on the notion of utilising an interactive video to help convey the InSite story, as well as condensing the process down to a minimal number of 8 key steps.

To help convey these steps simply and effectively and to keep to a relatively minimal budget, we opted to create the experience using CGI elements of the products. Utilising CAD data, the products were optimised for CGI.

Working back from our steps, we storyboarded and animated the piece accordingly, compositing additional elements like data lines to help convey the product story.

As well as overseeing this project from start to finish, I also worked hands-on to colour grade and provide motion graphics for the piece.
